This rainy Memorial Day Weekend Sunday morning I had author Charl Von Wyk on the Heartland show. KFAQ's wet, faulty phone lines only allowed for half an interview, but I enjoyed the time we had. I will try to get him on again before he heads back across "the Pond". If you'd like to purchase his Book: "Shooting Back" - Here's the Link: http://shop.wnd.com/store/item.asp?ITEM_ID=1960 In July 1993, Charl Von Wyk was attending Sunday evening service at St. James Church in Capetown, South Africa. Communist Terrorists, backed by an Islamic Terrorist group, burst into the service firing AK-47s and throwing hand grenades into the crowd. 11 were killed and 53 wounded. What kept them from killing all 1,500 of the congregation? One man shot back. Von Wyk's military training kicked in, and he pulled his .38 snub nose revolver, shooting one Terrorist. This was enough to cause them to flee. In his book "Shooting Back", Von Wyk recounts the entire event, and answers the theological questions "Should a Christian own a firearm?", and "Is Fighting back a Right, or a Duty?" I highly recommend the book.

HEARTLAND CHURCH: New Meeting Place - New Teaching Series The Heartland Church is now meeting in the Fellowship Building behind Tulsa Harvest Church. The door is near the fenced playground. 13650 East 21st Street . One half mile East of 129th on 21st Street. On the South side of 21st just before Eastland Mall. We meet Sunday Evenings at 5:30. We started a new teaching series called: "The Government of GOD" last Sunday. Our purpose on Sunday nights is primarily to make disciples. God wants to train leaders for this hour. But as we have learned: God doesn't just make leaders, He makes disciples who become servants. THEN the Father takes those servants and trains up mature sons and daughters who'll faithfully do His Will. His Government is predicated upon our ability to be self-governed within. In order for Christ to be Lord of our life, He must take time to train us. Lordship requires His Spirit to rule our regenerated human spirit, which in turn rules our soul, and our body. This is the Life of living for GOD and for others whom He loves. Tired of the same old Church-hopping routine? Have you been out of touch, staying home from Church services instead of assembling with other Believers? Well, that season is over, and a new chapter is opening for you! You are invited to join us on Sunday evenings at 5:30 for Biblical Training and satisfying Fellowship with Christians of a kindred heart. Who knows? You may have found a Home at Heartland! For more info: 358-5305.
